Pare Corporation provided professional structural engineering design services in support of a full-gut renovation of an existing 200,000-SF building for Moderna. The renovation program consisted of a complete reconfiguration of the building to provide clinical manufacturing space, laboratories, warehouse space, offices, a conference center, dining area, fitness center, and lounge and gathering space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pare’s services included a structural condition assessment and inspection of existing framing systems to develop a 3D REVIT model. Field investigation included determining existing framing components, obtaining connection details to assist in the structural evaluation and analysis of the building for an additional 270 tons of weight from the new mechanical equipment, and uncovering existing lateral load resisting systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Final design consisted of the design of framing retrofits of the existing building for its proposed use, development and design of 33,000 square feet of rooftop platforms to support HVAC upgrades, and the design of 950 linear feet of process pipe racks within the manufacturing space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
