{"id":3142,"date":"2022-03-11T17:15:13","date_gmt":"2022-03-11T22:15:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/?post_type=project&#038;p=3142"},"modified":"2022-03-11T17:35:02","modified_gmt":"2022-03-11T22:35:02","slug":"uri-bike-path","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/project\/uri-bike-path\/","title":{"rendered":"URI Bike Path"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The URI\/South County Bike Path Connector is a 1.85-mile-long designated bike path which provides a safe and healthful alternative transportation mode for students, faculty, and staff commuting from Wakefield and Narragansett to the Kingston campus of the University of Rhode Island. The project was funded by a Rhode Island State Green Economy Bond. The path originates at another Pare project, a new residence hall on campus, Brookside Hall, and connects to the William C. O\u2019Neill South County Bike Path south of the Kingston Amtrak station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pare performed a traffic safety analysis to determine the best option for crossing Route 138, a principal arterial roadway that required special safety measures. This resulted in Pare\u2019s design of the state\u2019s second HAWK traffic beacon (High-intensity Activated cross-WalK) at the Route 138 crossing to address these safety concerns.
