Pare Corporation was part of the Design\/Build Team that was selected by Brown University to renovate the 315 Thayer Street apartments. Previously used as Auxiliary Housing for 32 students in apartment units, its conversion to suite-style housing increased the number of students housed to 60, increased the number of single bedrooms available to undergraduates, and enabled the use of the fourth floor through improved egress systems. The project also provided accessible entry and circulation improvements through the incorporation of a new elevator and the reconfiguration of much of the interior space. The project received LEED Gold certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Originally constructed in 1910, the building is a four-story, masonry and wood-framed structure with a basement level that is partially below grade. The fourth floor is an “attic level” with sloped roof and dormered areas. Gross square footage is approximately 24,000 SF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
