Pare partnered with Ai3 Architects and Gates, Leighton and Associates (now BETA Group) on the project, which is part of the MA Model School Program and is seeking LEED Gold certification. The project required the services of every division and department at Pare, including the site design, traffic analyses, wetland delineation, environmental permitting, environmental and geotechnical investigations, and construction support. We explored the many green features of the school during our tour. Some of these green features incorporated into the project were discussed in a previous entry of the GreenPARE Blog published in May. <a href=\"http:\/\/greenpare.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/14\/green-site-features-under-construction-at-plymouth-north-high-school\/\">View the previous entry here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_408\" style=\"width: 850px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/8-29-12-002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-408\" class=\" wp-image-408\" title=\"8-29-12 002\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/8-29-12-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"630\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-408\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pare carpools from Foxboro to Plymouth North<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We began our tour with a walk through the school building, during which we were able to see the media center, gymnasium, cafeteria, auditorium, and classrooms.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_389\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-389\" class=\"size-large wp-image-389\" title=\"DSCN8846\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/dscn8846.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"818\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-389\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The media center is designed to maximize the use of natural light. This two story space has large windows and lighting fixtures that are activated by the absence of sunlight.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_390\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-390\" class=\"size-large wp-image-390\" title=\"DSCN8848\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/dscn8848.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-390\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Plymouth North High School&#8217;s state-of-the-art auditorium.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_394\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-394\" class=\"size-large wp-image-394\" title=\"8-29-12 024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/8-29-12-024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-394\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Plymouth North High School&#8217;s modern cafeteria.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_391\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-391\" class=\"size-large wp-image-391\" title=\"DSCN8849\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/dscn8849.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"809\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-391\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The gymnasium uses reconditioned air, maximizing energy efficiency. The walking track along the perimeter of the upper level gym space will be open to the public which helps attribute to SS Credit 10 \u2013 Joint Use of Facilities.<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_393\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-393\" class=\"size-large wp-image-393\" title=\"8-29-12 019\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/8-29-12-019.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-393\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The gymnasium lobby features artwork made up of memorabilia from the former school.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>During our walk around the site, we were able to see many of the sustainable features and best management practices incorporated into the landscape design, stormwater management system, and athletic facilities. River stone lining the building facilitates drainage and helps prevent moisture from being held against the building.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-411\" title=\"8-29-12 048\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/8-29-12-048.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><br \/>\nAccessibility for the handicapped at the school&#8217;s stadium facility.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp mceIEcenter\">\n<div class=\"mceTemp mceIEcenter\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-419\" title=\"8-29-12 043\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/8-29-12-043.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Porous concrete and landscaped areas surrounds the concession building, minimizing impervious area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-412\" title=\"8-29-12 046\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/8-29-12-046.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><br \/>\nThe newly constructed Council On Aging building adjacent to the High School overlooks the athletic facilities.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp mceIEcenter\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-400\" title=\"8-29-12 038\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/8-29-12-038.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Interlocking blocks provide a permeable surface for parking areas around the school. Bike lanes around the campus encourage cycling to school.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_413\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-413\" class=\"size-large wp-image-413\" title=\"DSCN8867\" src=\"https:\/\/www.parecorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/dscn8867.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-413\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Demolition of the former school building will continue as school begins.
